Reading

I like to read and often way too much! I can't tell you how often I stayed up till 2 am in high school because I just had to finish my book. I just couldn't put them down. If I was really desperate, I'd read the last couple pages and finish the book later. I still wanted to enjoy the story but knowing the ending brought me enough peace to sleep. Sadly I don't get to the library often enough. And when I do, I'm usually picking out books for my children. As a mother and housewife, my days of spending hours upon hours reading are few and far between. I usually go for a quick read that doesn't take much brain power when I have time.

Right now I'm reading:

Something for Bible Study! When I do have time to read, I have to make it count. Having time in the Bible for spiritual growth is still a priority amidst the busyness of having a young family.

My all time favorites are:

As an adult... Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I love this story of redemption pulled right from the book of Hosea. It echoes a much greater love story between me and my Savior.

As a teen...Frank Peretti. Apparently I loved scaring myself. These books bring to life the "dark side" of Christianity. They gave me chills but I always learned a real life lesson in the process. And I don't consider myself superstitious but I will never again hear the words "open your mind" without picturing demonic claws in someone's head. Creepy!

As a beginner... SadieRose series by Hilda Stahl. I loved, loved these books when I was in probably 5th grade. These and the ones about Libby that I can't remember the official titles. Hilda Stahl has great stories for young girls.

As a child...before the above mentioned books, I can't really remember what I loved. Once I could read not even cereal boxes were safe! :)

I also follow a hand full of blogs on Google Reader and spend way too much time on Instagram and Facebook. I find lots of scrappy/crafty inspiration there! And I love browsing Pinterest particularly when I'm up with a baby at night!
