I wish my baby was sleeping. We have a friend over today and H is sleeping soundly and my girl has been making herself heard for the last couple hours. I think it's time to completely drop the morning nap. We've be doing naptime from 10-11 and then 2-4. Millie just couldn't make it through the morning without a rest. But now she's really struggling with her afternoon naps.
Any tips on how to make the transition to one nap easier?
Honestly I think the transition might be harder for me than her! I enjoy being able to take a morning nap if I stayed up too late last night. And I usually get ready for the day during her morning nap as well. I'm either going to have to get up before her, which is rarely going to happen or learn to get ready faster with her around.
I wish it was 85 degrees everyday for the rest of the summer. Today is so beautiful! It's been so ridiculously hot that today I almost felt like I needed a jacket this morning. Even though summer is my favorite time of year, I do miss cooler evenings and mornings where you just want to pull on a cozy sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. But today was the perfect day to be outside! Yesterday the FedEx man delivered our new kiddie pool and today we broke it in! It was a hit and a great way to cool off. Between all 5 kids (my 2 for today plus the 3 neighbor kids), I had to wash out a bunch of grass but it was worth it. I'm happy to have a pool for the rest of the summer!
How have you been beating the heat this summer?
I do not wish for twins. Oh my goodness. Having two 1.5year olds today has shown me that I do not wish for twins. Ever. When I was a kid, I thought having a twin would be a blast. But now as a mother, I realize raising twins would make me pull my hair out after a couple days. To those mamas out there I know that have twins ...you are strong women! God must give extra patience to those moms and dads!
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Luke 12:27

I Wish Wednesday
I WISH... I was at PiYo. Let's just say, this morning did not go as planned. J left early this morning, which is normal but Millie decided that meant she needed to be up too... at 6:45am. Daddy gave her a kiss and I gave her some books to keep her in bed until 7:30. Then began the struggle of breakfast. Apparently pancakes and nectarines weren't making her skirt fly up this morning. After a 1/2hr of sitting in her chair, she drank all her milk and threw her pancake on the floor. So I could a) clean her up and take her to the Y with basically no breakfast or b) sit and patiently help her eat. This good but slightly grouchy mama chose option B. PiYo is my favorite class each week so I'm bummed. I might have to just do what I remember here at home. I always feel so relaxed after this class!
I WISH... Millie would stay little forever some days. She's my little bookworm and I love reading to her.
I WISH... I had this Hartford Buffett in my dining room. Don't you just love dreaming about what you want in your house someday!? I do. We've only been in our house a few years, so we're still accumulating furniture. It can be expensive!! So we save for a while and then make a purchase. This baby is definitely on my list!
So this is my attempt at getting back into a blogging rhythm and bringing back I Wish Wednesdays. Here's my first IWW post and why I choose 'wish'. What do you wish for this week?

I Wish Wednesday
I have been a little busy and thus no blogging. So here's a quick wish.
I wish May wasn't so busy! The busyness includes...
New Job
This is my second week of work at my new job. I am getting the hang of my job description and slowly getting to know my new co-workers. I was not expecting to have a new job this spring but thankfully it's been a smooth transition so far.
Chizel Wedding
This was the first of 2 weddings we have this month. And Chizel is a celebrity name we accidentally came up with at the reception. Actually the very nervous best man said it in his toast. The wedding was amazing! Definitely one of the nicest one's I've ever been too. And I some what proudly say this is the first wedding I've danced at. My friend Abby was "drunk on freedom" from her kids and roped me into dancing. And I ended up having a lot fun. But my honey said that maybe I should practice before the next wedding dance, because I'm not going to win any awards for my moves. :)
Family Wedding
My sister-in-law is getting married this weekend and we have family from PA staying at our house. I'm anticipating another fun-filled, tired inducing weekend. I wish my house was already clean. They're coming tomorrow and we have lots to do!
Life
My life almost always feels busy! How does that work!? Life has felt busy in general since I got married. I remember being swamped before the wedding and thinking it was sure to slow down after the day. But I am still waiting for that to happen.

I Wish Wednesday
Well it's Wednesday. And nothing comes to mind that I'm wishing for. Well there's one thing but I'm not sharing that here. Those of you who know me already know or can ask me privately. So I'm wishing to feel better faster. Thankfully I've found that I tolerate pain pretty well. I find myself referring to pain as discomfort most of the time. Thanks Dad. My Dad calls a broken foot, collar bone or torn ACL 'discomfort'.
I wish for Spring! I am so ready for consistently warmer weather.
I wish April Fool's day wasn't a real day. A day where we purposely lie and pull pranks on each other is retarded. Now I'm not against jokes and fun pranks but why would we regulate that to a specific day? I have a co-worker whose child has been pulling pranks on her all week because Nickelodeon has been telling kids what they can do for April Fool's. Things like switching mom's diet cereal with the kid's sugar cereal and lying about it. Now that's the part I have issue with.
I wish I had a reason to use the word Duple. I learned a new word last night at choir. A duple (say it like triple) is a compound meter. That's what Troy's music dictionary says. I just think it's a funny sounding word. I asked if he made that up when he told us what we were singing was a duple. I know, a little sassy - but our choir is rather jovial and we like to tease Troy. PS. Happy Bday tomorrow Troy and one of your sons! I love it when multiple people in one family have the same birthday.
Well I'm off to wish I wasn't at work! :) Have a great Wednesday!

I Wish Wednesday
This weekend we went to Nebraska Furniture Mart with the expressed purpose of buying some furniture off the long list of options we had discussed. We looked at bedside tables, bar stools, bookshelves and buffets. And we came home with absolutely nothing! I was particularly excited to get bedside tables since I currently have a pile on the floor next to my side of the bed. But I didn’t have a clear vision of what I wanted ahead of time and J had no idea what he liked. Soo now I know what I like and I know what he does not like so hopefully our next trip will be more successful. But mind reading sure would’ve been helpful. :)
I wish it was really Spring.
Let’s be real – it’s March in Nebraska. There is a very real possibility that it will be very cold yet again this month. I love 40-50 degree mornings. This week I’ve started running again. Even though it’s hard to convince my lazy winter bones to get outside and be active in the morning, I am trying. I find that running is a great stress-reliever. I want to be more consistent this summer than last year. It’s a continuous, slow growing process for me.

I Wish Wednesday
I wish I had something to write about.
I have some pictures on our camera that will post and write about eventually. But that might be awhile. :)
I have been doing a lot of reading recently. I will try to continue to share via the Google Reader feed in the sidebar. Enjoy.

I Wish Wednesday
I wish I actually had time to do this post.
Here's one... I wish that my co-workers didn't complain about their spouses. It is so hard for me to hear and hard to know what to say. I love my hubby. We don't always get along but that does not mean I'm going to tell everyone at work that he's scum and he'd better shape up or I'll leave him. How would you respond to your co-workers in a loving, truthful way?
Check out my Google reader feed to the left. I've been reading a lot about Obama's stance on abortion and how we can pray for our president. It's post inauguration stuff - I'm a little behind.

I Wish Wednesday
I'm still thinking about winter and Christmas! :)
I wish winter was prettier in Nebraska.
I miss the beautiful snow covering the ground. I don't like seeing the dead brown grass all the time. Clean snow is so lovely!
I wish my excitement about Christmas would burn strong throughout the year.
This is more of a goal than a wish because, like I said, I think wishing is pointless if you're not going to do anything about it. I've been wondering... At Christmas time we have Advent to help us anticipate Christ's birthday. Why don't we have something that helps us anticipate Easter? (Lent doesn't count because it brings dread not excitement.) Because what Easter celebrates is a little more important and we should be even more excited about it. I love the songs and stories that talk about the veil being torn! It's such a vivid description of what happened on a spiritual level at Christ's death. And it means so much to me personally - because God no longer resides in the temple but in the hearts of believers!
I wish flying weren't so nerve racking.
I'm flying to visit my sister at college later this month. I've never been much of a fly-er. I usually get motion sickness or just really nervous. I'm not worried about the plane crashing (well maybe a little) but rather worried about getting sick. I really hate getting sick on the plane. I'm so thankful to whoever invented Dramamine.

I Wish Wednesday
I Wish that it snowed in Nebraska the way it snows in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It's so beautiful! We always had a few feet of snow but somehow it never affected the roads. Apparently road crews are smarter in the mountains.
I Wish there were more days in December.
I Wish I were more dedicated to remember Christ in this Advent season as I anticipate Christmas. This year our church is not doing the lighting of the Advent candles. I actually miss it. I know that the ceremony of Advent is from pagan rituals (or is that only Lent?) but I have always appreciated the goal of Advent. I need to be reminded that Christmas is to celebrate Christ's birth and not a time for presents, family and drowning in busyness!
I Wish "Merry Christmas" wasn't taboo at work. I have never worked at a place where they specifically told me that I can't say Merry Christmas to people because they might sue the company. What is the world coming to when we can't say Merry Christmas because it speaks of Christ but yet I'm being dumb if I'm not a fan of Santa Clause or Halloween!? Yes, I'll say it - I believe telling your kids Santa Clause is real is lying to them. I never believed in Santa or celebrated Halloween and I don't think I missed out. Anyhow, that's a topic for another day! :)
Addendum: To clarify, I think telling children Santa is REAL is wrong, not that Santa is evil. If he is a tradition in your family enjoy, but be truthful so we can learn how to be thankful to those who gave the gifts. If we, as Christians don't encourage our children to learn to thank people in their lives for gifts, how will they learn to thank God for His many gifts and the greatest gift that we celebrate at Christmas?

I Wish Wednesday
I know Wednesday was yesterday. I'm delayed. :)
I'm going to try a new thing here. Well, it's new for me. I picked 'I wish' not because I really live my life in a wishy way but because it's rhymes with Wednesday and sounded cute. And right now I have a large 'to do' list.
i wish i was 10 and didn't have to worry about family growing pains. Remember the days when you just showed up at family gatherings and ate food and played the day away. Miss those days!
i wish my house was clean. Permanent wish.
i wish my Christmas decorations could hang themselves. Like I said, I'm swamped. I love putting up my tree and all the rest of my Christmas stuff but it sure takes a lot of time.
i wish the day had more hours. ... husband says the days have more hours if you get up earlier. Hmm, very funny hubby. I think more hours to sleep and more hours to get stuff done would be great! Why is it that work takes up most of my hours?
