My verse for March 1st...
How can I repay the Lord for all His acts of kindness to me? I will celebrate my deliverance, and call on the name of the Lord.
Psalm 116:12-13 NET
This is such a blessing to me! I can't believe I'm 5 verses in and I'm sticking with it. I realize when I think about how I'm doing I need to praise God in my excitement rather than fall into the sin of pride. This is a joy and blessing to me! I'm excited about how this is growing my relationship with my Savior. I always thought I was bad at Scripture memorization. But I think I must be getting a little help. :)
How are your New Year's resolutions going? Did you make any new commitments in 2011 that you are excited about growing in? Is there something new that God has shown you already this year and you have the ability to see the lesson? I find that I usually can't see until later in the year. I get so busy and caught up. It seems like it takes the reminder of Christmas for me to bring the past year in focus.
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Luke 12:27

Building a Library
Figuring out what books to get for Millie is a challenge! It's been a few years since I was that young. And really, I don't remember what kind of books I had at that age. I have vivid memories of what I read closer to Jr. High. I loved Sadie Rose and I plan on buying those books for Millie one day! I sure hope she loves to read like I do because I already have a list of books in mind for her library when she's older!
This month we participated in Baby Dedication at church and so we received the Big Picture Story Bible for O. I love it! I love that it not only has beautiful pictures but that it tells the Truth behind the Bible story not only the story itself. Right from the start it talks about how God relates to man and how sin affects Adam and Eve. It doesn't just focus on the story of them eating an apple. So I have really enjoyed reading this to O! This book is a great compliment to The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes, which I read when I was a kid. It focuses on telling the stories in the Bible on a level that is interesting for little ones. And it has great pictures!
I look forward to researching new books, picking out old classics and getting tips from friends about what books will encourage the bookworm gene in Millie!
